Touchdown To Reality, It's Not Exactly What You Had In Mind...

Hey Everyone!

*Lyrics from Kodaline ~ Perfect World

Sorry for not posting my usual weekly update last week. I genuinely don’t have any excuses for my absence. I had the entire week off from school, yes, I did have lots of homework and study, however, I had most of it finished by the weekend.

So this week is about the past two weeks, an unusual occurrence. This week I didn’t feel that well. My physical health was the usual. I just feel very run down and tired lately. I can’t quite put my finger on what was wrong with me this week, but there was something.  I felt like writing a lot this week also, however, due to time constraints of homework and study I couldn’t. It really annoyed me as I thought I needed to express something, which I felt, but on the other hand, wondered if the something was a figment of dwindling imagination in an over tired and stressed brain and mind.

My Halloween went well, I had a really good night. I casually dressed in a cow onesie, mainly because it was so snug and warm. During Mid Term break week I also went to the cinema with my friend Tara. We went to the school to get books for study and then walked to the cinema. We went to see ‘’Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2’’ which was actually brilliant and released my inner child. While we were leaving the cinema, we spotted a Catching Fire poster and posed beside them!

The photograph was also before I got my hair cut, so it’s a good bit longer than it is now. Around 2/3 inches of my hair was cut off, which is a lot for me, seeing as my hair length is always hovering around or past my shoulders.

Monday, I went back to school. Which is always fun when you had been awake since 3 am that morning and only got four hours sleep.  I was outside the room of my next class and was talking to a friend of mine walking past and I was whinging that I only got 4 hours sleep and had been up since 3 am. Little did I know, an old teacher of mine (who had taught me for four years) was behind my friend and he said asked me why I only got 4 hours sleep and what was I doing up at 3am? Awkward does not describe it!

Thankfully I got more sleep during the week, however right now it’s around 8pm on Saturday and I want to go asleep. I’m just so incredibly tired! On the bright side, I finished most of my homework earlier so I can go asleep with a clear conscience.

You might also be wondering what is the meaning behind the title of this blog post! I was originally planning on calling it ''What's A Parabola?'' because in maths we were learning about parabola's (a quadratic equation on a graph if you're wondering) but the teacher didn't have quite enough time to explain the term. So I left the class saying ''What's a parabola?'' The word seemed just too funny to me. I chose this lyric because the song is really describing what's on my mind lately.

My friend Grace of DaintySprinkles made meme's of the video we recorded about school. Here are some of the few which can be shown in public.. ;)

Thanks Grace! :D

Finished this AMAZING book on Thursday night. I read the first three books very much in succession and adored them!

Something I bought in Penneys and put on top of my mirror in my room, I love it!

My Halloween nails! First time I've painted my nails in actual years!

My brother came home from university with two posters for me, this is one of them!

The other poster is filled with Doctor Who quotes and I just love it, thank you!

CATCHING FIRE!

I am not even sorry..

So that's about it from me this week, just giving you all notice, I've Christmas exams around December 2nd so my blogging might be less frequent however I'll try my best to keep up blogging as I love it.

The Week Before Summer Ends!

Hey Everyone!

It's hard to believe the summer is practically over. I can't believe how fast the time went by! It seems like only yesterday I was absolutely terrified about starting my summer job in the middle of May, yesterday I finished up for the summer and there were several handshakes, hugs, ''good luck's'' and even a little tear! It was a truly unique experience and gave me a little insight into the working world. I'm going to miss so many people, however I'll be happy to see all my friends at the same time in school again!

So this week was a little varied, I'll explain! Last Sunday, my parents went to my cousin's wedding in another part of Ireland, so myself, my brother and my cousin (his parents were at the wedding too) were left to our own devices in my house. When you're with two lads for nearly 2 whole days, the quality of your diet falls, dramatically.

I'm not exaggerating, we ordered dinner from the same pizza place (Oh which one?!) TWICE in two days. Yes, we ate out in a few other places too (they can't cook and wouldn't let me, even though I studied home economics for four years!) So on Tuesday when Mam made one of her delicious dinners, I was delighted to eat healthy food again. Fast food is lovely to have, except not constantly for two whole days!

So, today's Saturday and I'm starting school again next Wednesday, which is slightly terrifying. I'm off Thursday and back in school Friday, so I'm only in for two days, perks of being a Fifth Year (only perk) I was in the school on Friday with my friend Tara and we dropped my books into my locker (and emptied the locker of my 3rd year books, fun times) and we walked around the school. It's strange because some parts of the school actually changed over the brief 3 months away! The place just seemed different, perhaps it was the absence of 1700 pupils, I'm not sure however it seemed eerie nearly.

Sorry my post is a little late today, I was out at my friends house at their party! They had an obstacle course bouncy castle and gladiator fights where you stand on the podium and try knock down your opponent, it was brilliant fun except for my scratched elbows (skin peeling, ew) so I can't lean my elbows anywhere without a sharp jab of pain. First World Problems I guess.

Today (Sunday) again I was being sociable, a rare occurrence for me! All my family came up to my house and we all chatted and ate cake along with other lovely sweet things. I blew up balloons and played games with my younger cousins to keep them occupied. However I got stung by a wasp! First time I've been stung for years, as a child I can recall being stung on the neck (reason why I'm TERRIFIED of wasps) so it was really good fun and great to see some of my relations. As you may know, I didn't really tell most of my family that I have a blog & YouTube, but my one of my cousins found it on my Twitter! Cheers for telling/showing everyone John! I think I'll have to post it on my personal Facebook soon *gasps*

My Week & Back To School Horror

Hey Everyone!

Another week has come and gone, with it more exciting memories, procrastinating and sobbing over going back to school. Fun times. I need to chat to all you lovely readers about back to school and how it complicates my blog. First however I'm going to tell you about my week!

So it was my second last week of my summer job this week, I came home everyday with increasing pains in my legs! Ouch! So I rested after work most of this week, little or no socialising unfortunately. However, I treated myself to a limited edition Orla Kiely travel mug! Orla Kiely is an amazing Irish clothes designer, Kate Middleton and her Mum Carole, are very fond of her designs and have worn her outfits on several occasions. Once I heard she was releasing limited edition travel mugs I literally screamed with excitement. I have used mine a couple of times already (I was drinking hot chocolate from it earlier today editing my YouTube video for this week, the weather was miserable)

Leaving Cert results also came out in Ireland this week, so a huge well done to everyone who received their results, in particular my cousin Barry, you did brilliantly. A lad from my school also achieved the highest result  in the country! (9 A1's!) Once again congratulations Mark, best of luck in the future.

Again, on the subject of school, I'm starting Fifth Year on August 28th. What does mean to my blog and YouTube? Sadly, an awful lot. Fifth Year is the start of the Leaving Cert cycle so it will be hard work and study for me as I want to achieve the best possible results. The impact is that I will be blogging less as I will most likely be using my spare time for work and study sadly. I really don't want to reduce my blogging/YouTube time and presence, I don't want it to be this way, but I have to.

I want to achieve what I've dreamt and craved for, and that means I have to work hard in my school work. I will be popping up hopefully every week checking in on all of you, I'm just not guaranteeing it which really, honestly deeply saddens me. I've grown to love blogging to all of you all over the summer. It's amazing to think people all over the world are reading what I'm typing in my room in Ireland.

I felt I needed to tell you all in advance, also, I'm going to try finish the blogging challenge before I go back to school and also do some revision and my summer job in between. Fun times.

Who Needs Vid-Con When You Have Amusements?!

Hey Everyone!

Another week has come and passed! So the title of this post is about Vid-Con and amusements! I was devastated that I wasn't going to Vid-Con, (I will probably never get to go there, perks of living in Ireland) I'd love to meet Dan Howell, Phil Lester, John & Hank Green, Charlie McDonnell, Zoella and lots more people someday as I adore them all and they are my idols! . Maybe I'll go in a few years, if I'm lucky.

So I wasn't up to very much this week, until the weekend! I was working for the majority of the week which I didn't mind. I was up at 4 am on Saturday for work later on however I finished early enough so I went for brunch with my friend Shannon who was working with me that morning. I then got a text from my friend Vivien asking to go to the amusements with her and Grace (aka DaintySprinkles) so I went and we had an amazing time. Now, I have an insane fear of heights so I wasn't able to go on the higher amusements so Grace and I took photos while Viv went on those amusements! (See below!)

Hopefully by the time I have written this, my video will have uploaded to YouTube, if you could subscribe to me I would really appreciate it, I am a little terrified uploading to YouTube, it's one of the biggest social media platforms on the internet. I love blogging as I can write down what's going on, whilst blogging you don't have to make eye-contact with a camera, you just type whatever is in your head..

Please don't hate me haha.

Also, in the video you will see a toy puppy on my right hand side! It's a branded cuddly toy I got in the supermarket on Friday whilst shopping with my Mam, it's so cute, my inner child screamed to have it! I have a feeling I won't be letting my little cousins near it when they visit. (Yes really)

So the weeks are quickening steadily now, I've three weeks left in my summer job then I'm back in school (once again, explained in the video!) Which I'm really going to miss but I'll be happy to be back in school and see all my friends again!

Taking selfies at the amusements with our popcorn and candy floss! (I asked for the SMALL candy floss if you're wondering!)

Attractively eating my candy floss..

Vivien on one of the amusements I was too scared to go on..

An Extremely Weird Week!

Hello Everyone!

So as you can probably tell, I had a very, very weird and random week! Sit down, grab some popcorn and Maltesers (amazing combination to eat at the cinema) and let me tell you all about it (but this isn't the cinema, sorry)

So it all started on Monday with 'The Great Kate Wait' My Mam ran into my room, 7.30am screaming to get on Twitter, ''KATE'S GONE INTO LABOUR WITH THE ROYAL BABY' so consequently, I spent all the morning refreshing my Twitter with my mother and a thirst for knowledge about the Royal Baby. We also watched Kay Burley losing the plot on Sky News which was quite hilarious.

I left in the afternoon to socialise with some friends, thoroughly exhausted after spending hours upon hours watching Sky News and refreshing Twitter, in a constant quest for non existent information! It was good to see some of my friends, a few others weren't able to go or are in a different social circle. It felt kind of strange being with people my own age, as for the past nearly 2 months I've been with people in work a lot older than me. It felt weird as the types of conversations we had were completely different to the conversations in work, it's difficult to put my finger on what was so different.

Perhaps it was the fact that maybe I've become accustomed to being in a more adult (not being sinister saying adult) working environment, with responsibilities, people depending/trusting me to do my work correctly and to the best specifications. This situation was different.

So I worked during the week too, which I don't mind, my bank account is looking better than ever! On Friday I bought a Doctor Who sonic screwdriver! It's Eleven's screwdriver and I love it. Yes, I'm nearly seventeen and spend some of my money on payday on a screwdriver, yes, mature aren't I? It's currently held in my TARDIS pen holder, what I need next is a Matt Smith cut-out! Anyone want to donate one? ;)

I also finished my back to school things on Friday too, I collected my school blazer and a German book. My heart sank as I realised that I am going back to school, that I won't be working until at least next summer and that it's going to be a lot of hard work, not just buying a blazer! As I was in Transition Year last year, I've started to jog my memory about various subjects so I won't be sitting there sobbing in September about how I used to remember all the work but don't now! It's not going to be fun, alas, like everything, it will be worth it in the long run!

On Saturday (today) I didn't have badminton so I had a lie-in for the first time in what felt like forever! I went downtown later on and bought myself some new whiteboard markers! (I had run out, devastating indeed) I got multiple colours, so what do I do with them? Write quotes on my whiteboard of course! (Pictures below!)

JOHN GREEN BOOKS UPDATE!
I finished 'An Abundance of Katherine's'' last week! I really enjoyed it, not as much as 'Looking for Alaska'' or TFIOS but I liked it all the same, it was light hearted, exactly what I needed after reading emotionally heavier books like Looking for Alaska and TFIOS. Due to work and everything I haven't been able to read much of 'Paper Towns' which is a crying shame as I'm loving it so far! I think boys would enjoy Paper Towns alot, as it's from a boys POV, I'm still enjoying it regardless!

A Random Week, Indeed.

Hey Everyone,

Another week has come and gone. On Monday it's the 1 st of July?! I couldn't believe it when I saw, time flies when you're having fun I guess.. ! I didn't get up to as much this week sadly, but I'll tell you about it! (As compensation I'll be writing a review on a book I read recently!)

So I was working most of the week, which I don't mind really. It's better than staying at home sitting on Tumblr all day long. I was leaving work on Tuesday and got a text from my friend. Earlier this week my friends and I had been organising to hang out during the week, but I was working and couldn't make it.

So I got a text from my friend saying they were all walking up to where I work to meet me and say hi! I was so excited! So myself and Shannon  met (a friend of mine who works in the same place as I do) with Maeve, Caitlin and Maeve (Yes, I have two friends called Maeve!) and socialised for nearly an hour. As I was leaving, Caitlin asked was I was going to the cinema with them to see World War Z.

We went to see World War Z with a few other people in our year in school, the film was actually brilliant. Brad Pitt was really good and we were kind of swooning over him. Maeve made a joke about how the zombie's sounded like the bird from the movie ''Up!'' which of course, left us in hysterics at the back of the cinema. I really enjoyed seeing everyone again, seeing as I've been so tired after work I mainly just go on Tumblr & Twitter and go asleep!

I also bought myself new earphones as my old ones were broken and both the buds were missing so it was sore to place them in my ears. I bought pink Sony ones as I was feeling girly today. I'm listening to music with them now and it's amazing! I love them. I only hope I don't step on them in the future..

Now, you know Coca-Cola (Coke) have a campaign with ''Share a Coke with'' and a name on each individual bottle/can? Seeing as my name is Aveen, a rare name in Ireland, my name isn't on them. (If you could pass the tissue's it would be great) I was in my local shop up the road today. (I live in Ireland okay, there is a small shop up the road!) and saw a Coke can with ''Share a Coke with ME'' I don't generally drink Coca-Cola, I usually drink either Diet Coke or even Coke-Zero. So I bought the can and took a photo. It makes me wonder what am I doing with my life this summer. :)

So that's mostly it with The Life Of Me this week. Please try vote for Irish bloggers in The Blog Award Ireland. We'd really appreciate it, the closing date is July 1st! Get your skates on! On another note, I just looked at my all time views, which is now past 3,000! Thank you so much everyone, I really appreciate it. I love you all :)

My Cringing Face (Idk why I posted it, it looked funny!)
My new earphones which sound amazing.

My new phone background, it says ''Follow Your Dreams'' I love quotes too much..

I was babysitting my two little cousins last weekend, this was the result..

Goals & Dreams! ASDFGHJKL

So come with me,
where Dreams are born
and Time is never planned
Just think of Happy things,
And your heart will fly on Wings
In Never Never Land
~ Peter Pan

Hello Everyone! I can't blog about my first week in my summer job (I did sign a contract after all, saying specifically NOT to write about the company, but the week went well!) so I'm going to write about goals, ambitions and dreams.

Firstly, everyone has goals, ambitions & dreams. Big or small, important or just daily ones, like getting up on time and not falling out of the bed with exhaustion or clumsiness. (A deeply personal one for me being honest) I was thinking back to my childhood and I realised, I've had some pretty serious ambitions and goals throughout my short sixteen years, for nearly every year since around the age of eight, I have had an ambition or goal in my head constantly, whether it was to get good grades or to be in a specific place by a certain age (To visit London before I turned 25, I was 16 when I went for the first time, I hope it won't be the last)

There's one dream in particular I have been working towards since a very young age. You might laugh when you read what I'm about to type. (please don't, joking you can) The dream/goal is to be a primary school teacher. Since I was a child I've always wanted to be a teacher. Always. I've never seen anything else for me to do with my life, except perhaps Law, which I'm not so keen on. Teaching has just always been the answer, I did work experience when I was 14 and again when I was 16 in two different schools and I loved every minute of both, it made me realise that teaching is the one profession I am genuinely interested in and want to do.

I really noticed about my dreams and ambitions this year in particular. I was in Croke Park for a 'Leaders on our Level' conference this year and one of the speakers was Enda McNulty. He was truly inspirational and I really listened intently to what he was saying. After that day, he followed me on Twitter (I was so happy, it was because I had tweeted about him to one of my friends) So when I got home, I wrote down all my dreams, plans and ambitions for the next 5 or so years. It took several pages out of my diary, writing down meticulous details and then The Grand Plan.

The Grand Plan is basically how I'm going to try my best in everything I do, what I want with my future and myself and how I will try achieve it to the best of my abilities. Obviously I'm going to keep updating it (like today, I put three more entries in and crossed some off, proud moment)

I didn't really plan this post, it kind of just tumbled out. Unconscious thinking as my Creative Writing teacher would have said. The pen was connected to the page and your mind, I just wrote down what I thought. (Knowing I was right, obviously) Sarcasm sorry. I am such an INFJ...

On another note,I was watching some video's on YouTube, (Catrific, she's awesome) one of her video's in particular about the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.I did several online tests and delved into myself and my feelings, something I do a lot being honest. I discovered I am an INFJ.  (Cue party poppers)

What is an INFJ? Have you gone insane Aveen?

I thought I had gone slightly insane labelling myself as a random bunch of letters. They mean Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Judging.

Maybe this explains why I'm so goal driven. I'm exhausted so I won't bore you with details about being an INFJ. From what I've read, being an INFJ is quite rare and INFJ's find life to be difficult but achieve great things and have a great depth of thinking and feeling, something I really relate to.

I found all my info out on this page http://www.personalitypage.com/INFJ.html if you're wondering. It's a really informative website and I quite enjoyed reading about being an INFJ. I truly believe I am an INFJ. Why don't you find out your type and tell me about it? I'm on Tumblr, Blogger and Twitter pretty much all the time so I'll always have time to chat.

Ps. If you're wondering, INFJ's are really rare, less than 2% of the world population is an INFJ. I think that's kind of cool to be honest. However a lot of people try mould their personality to become one, for the ''rarity'' I just read through the article and felt I related to every single word!

Description of my entire life.. No, really.

My Desktop Background at the moment, to say I adore it is an understatement..

My reaction last night when news broke of Matt Smith leaving Doctor Who. I honestly thought I was going to drown in feels..

Update! My Job & Summer!!

Hey Everyone! ANOTHER update on The Life Of Me! Aren't you all lucky? ;)

So, some of you may or may not know but, I'm starting my summer job tomorrow! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time, it's a huge mixture of feels in my stomach, I'm delighted that I've been given the wonderful opportunity to be employed for the summer, however at the same time I'm absolutely terrified that I'll mess up and be fired or something. (Yes, I'm worrying that much, woo)

So what does that mean to my blog? Well, it means a lot to my life and then, the blog. I'm a Life Blogger, I write updates on my life, and it's actually read by people! So this is a huge new part of my life, my first ever job, so obviously it's going to a huge part of my life until late August/early September. Don't worry, I'm not ending this blog, this star won't go out. I'm just letting you know in advance that I might be blogging a little bit less.

I still don't know my hours or days for the summer, but judging by my age it won't be full time or anything, it might be around school time hours, so basically I'll be paid to go to school, if you look at it that way. Except it won't be like school! On Saturday (yesterday) just after I updated with my Summer post, the company phoned me, giving me the shock of my life obviously, telling me that I was starting Monday. I was so excited. But I nearly burnt my hand with my hair straightener as I was straightening my hair when I got the call.

So that was just a little update on what's going to be happening here for the next little while. I'm not really allowed to blog about the company for obvious reasons, I'm not going to name the place either, and yes, these are my own views. (Had to clear all that up sorry)

* Another note, you're probably wondering why my previous post was so short, I just stayed at home on Twitter, YouTube and Tumblr. I watched Sherlock too (Johnlock 5eva as they say) and became absorbed in feels. I did some things during the week so I may post them up sometime. (ALERT PROCRASTINATOR ALERT)
