''The Water Filled My Lungs, I Screamed So Loud But No One Heard A Thing''

Hey Everyone!

I realised it has been a while since I have written a detailed lifestyle post. The past couple of weeks have been utterly hectic. I had a solid week of Mocks exams, followed by a week of Midterm. I was quite tired, after the exams. It is true to say that having ten exams in five days in incredibly draining.

Overall, I am happy enough with my Mocks. At this precise moment, the week of the Mocks seemed to be a blur of cramming, anxiety and drinking lots of water during the exams. I never knew how quickly three hours and more could pass by! We'll receive our results in the coming weeks, fingers crossed I'm on the right track.

Enough about Mocks! I had an entire week off, an absolutely luxury. My teachers told us our homework was to, 'relax.' which I did. I kept a low-profile during the week, mainly staying at home and watching Game Of Thrones. I finished Season 4 last Friday morning and I still feel devoid of emotion as Season 5 isn't starting until April 13th. I will remain strong.

I also went to Dundrum to a blogger meet up! You can read about it here. The afternoon was fantastic and it was surreal meeting such lovely girls! Squad goals occurred. Apart from the trip to Dundrum, I did little else. The day we received our holidays I was interviewed by The Sunday Times about selfie sticks, it didn't appear in the newspaper but it was a hilarious phone call and interview!

I also received correspondence from some colleges/Universities that I applied to through CAO. I received an email or two, as well as a gorgeous letter from UL (where my brother goes!) I don't really plan on going to UL but it is still an option for me if I want to. All the same, the paper and the embossed logo were just stunning and the letter was so pretty.

Grace and I met up over the week and had an AwkwardSprinkles day. We were too busy chatting and laughing to actually film anything sadly so AwkwardSprinkles won't be returning just yet. I filmed another Letters to the Leaving Cert video, this time about the Mocks. It's a nice little series I think. It documents my last year in secondary school as well as the ups and downs that are an integral part of the year. I don't have as much time to brainstorm for eccentric videos but I like having the series as a way of keeping up YouTube. You can see the latest video here

Watching Danisnotonfire's latest video about #NicerInternet. Definitely worth a watch.

I decided to clean my desk after the Mocks.

After much hardship, my desk became extremely tidy again!

So that's about it from me, did you have an enjoyable Midterm? Let me know in the comments below!

''Everything’s In Order In A Black Hole, Nothing Seems As Pretty As The Past Though''

Hey Everyone!

It's the end of another week, which honestly shocked me, this week flew by! Many of you will be delighted to hear that another AwkwardSprinkles day was had on Saturday! Which means TWO new videos, aren't you all lucky?! :D

Grace and I met up down the town and sauntered around the town, catching up and having lots of fun. We later went to Grace's gaff (our obsession with 'gaff' is becoming slightly terrifying) to film two new videos which are so utterly random and strange, I'm slightly concerned about how we will be perceived afterwards! :)

I didn't really do much this week, I kind of took things easier this week. As a result I feel rejuvenated and eager to finish aims I had planned for the summer instead of just reblogging GIF's of Dan Howell (That said, nothing wrong with spending countless days drooling over Dan Howell's jawline) I also bought the magazine that will be featuring a massive poster of him in August. Life = Made.

I also made a Facebook page for my blog, you can check it out here and I'll be posting on this page whenever I write a blog post or make a YouTube video. I made the Facebook page after nearly a year and a half of procrastinating doing so!

In other news, the Long List for the Blog Awards Ireland was released on Friday. If you check the sidebar, you'll see that this little blog was nominated in THREE categories, for Best Lifestyle Blog, Best Personal Blog and Best Youth Blog! I was completely and utterly shocked when I read through the nominee's! I had to read it a couple of times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. So I'd like to say a massive thank you to the lovely people who nominated me, I really and truly appreciate it and this has given me the confidence to announce to my family and friends that I have a blog! Some of my family and friends knew but I don't think many did!

So The Random Life Of Aveen is no longer a quietly kept secret and it feels good to be able to say, ''Yep, I'm a lifestyle blogger and an occasional YouTuber as well being a Leaving Cert student''

I also developed an obsession with loom bands. I bought a couple of packets just to try it out and I was honestly hooked at once. I've made nearly a dozen loom bands so far and I'm experimenting with different designs which is really fun.

I also bought some new music on iTunes, I got Ed Sheeran's new album 'X' the deluxe version, AM by Arctic Monkeys and the 1975's self-titled album. I'm really happy with the albums I bought, I'd been meaning to buy them for a LONG time so my days have been filled with lots of new songs (yay!)

LOOM BANDS! I made Wexford and Limerick loom bands for my cousins. (I'm writing this whilst still wearing my Wexford jersey, there's always next year)

I'll see you all very soon!

I’ll Be Waiting, Waiting On A Brand New Day..

Hey Everyone!

Lyrics: Brand New Day ~ Kodaline
So it was my first week back from Mid-Term this week, something I only realised on Saturday, oops. I had an interesting week this week, it was a total and utter blur! One minute I was yawning on Sunday night, the next minute I was leaving Ag Science at 3.15 pm on Friday with little homework or study to do.

The teachers were okay this week, due to having so much homework and study (It's astronomical in comparison to the work I did in second and third year, to all 2nd/3rd Years, you have no idea how easy you have it, honestly!) So if I even do socialise, it's now on the weekends.

Mid-Week however, my vision of the world changed dramatically, quite literally! I got new glasses! Unfortunately, my eyesight has worsened so I have literally awful eyesight (to put it into context, I'm looking at this screen from literally 30cm away and I can't read it, all I can see is a few black blurs) I got my new pair and also a new pair of sunglasses after school on Tuesday.

Once I tried them on, I literally got the biggest shock ever. My previous pair of glasses were quite weak (as my eyesight had worsened since I'd first gotten them) so these new pairs were literally the world in high definition! I've posted some photos below of my new glasses, bear in mind, they're VERY different from my old glasses, it took me a few days to get used to them. My sunglasses are similar but even larger which did startle me as I had double vision when I tried them on! (They're fine now though)

I went to my Irish club on Friday night and had a great time with my friends there (even though only less than half the club was there) We played card games like Spit which was utterly hilarious (I'd never played it before and it was explained in Irish, you can probably see where this is going) but I understood it and had great fun. I'm also doing something with my Irish club next Saturday so my blog post next week won't be up until at least Sunday! Watch this space ;)

On Saturday, I accidentally slept in until 10.30 am  (badminton starts at 10 am) so I missed badminton and stayed at home, eating breakfast and watching The Walking Dead. My brother was home from University and as he won't be here for Pancake Tuesday, Mam decided we should have pancakes on Saturday! We ate what felt like dozens of pancakes (It was like 4)

Afterwards my brother and I went to the nearest shop (Sounds like Tesco) and I bought a magazine because a photo of Dan Howell was in it! We also bought the DVD of Thor which I watched when we got home. Tom Hiddleston *swoons*

I went babysitting later on and finished my English homework about Wuthering Heights and also my maths homework (which I finished today, oops)

Overall, I had a fast-paced week, however it was quite interesting. I really needed to recharge my batteries over Mid-Term which I did, so I'm back at full speed because the next two years of my life are a marathon, not a sprint as I've told myself constantly for the past year or so.

February Favourites!

Hey Everyone!

I decided to do something slightly different on my blog and discuss my favourites from February so far. This may be incredibly random but this is TRLOA after all ;) Let's begin!

I recently bought Company magazine and I have to say I loved it! I don't usually read fashion magazines but I really enjoyed this issue. I haven't been reading magazines the past couple of months because I grew out of KISS magazine (a brilliant Irish mag) as I had read the magazine since the age of 11 until 17!

My Harry Styles cardboard cut-out! I got this ''ironically'' for Christmas and Harry always makes me laugh (and scares my family when I put him in weird places ie their rooms)

Costa recently opened down the road from me, needless to say, I love it! Mam was going shopping so I went to Costa, yum.

These books literally just arrived this morning! I'm an avid reader and obsessed with history in school (It's kind of my best subject academically too) I watched a tv series called Band Of Brothers so I got some books about it !

A cat on the farm .. I love his/her colouring (the cat ran away when I walked up to it)

A selfie after going to the Mart (where livestock are sold) I went with the calves which were all sold so I was sad.. :(

I'm a culchie so I wear wellies. I've been wearing wellies more than my shoes this week..

My laptop, headphones, Costa and Wi-Fi, what more can you ask for? :)

Arctic Monkeys at the BRITS awards last night. I adore their music and have been a fan for a long while. Congrats for sweeping the boards at the awards however I wasn't that impressed when Alex dropped the microphone. I felt his speech was very interesting but I thought it was slightly tasteless just dropping the mic like that. On the whole, I love their music and would love to see them when they come to Ireland in the summer!

Again, talking about the BRIT awards, Dan Howell (danisnotonfire aka my idol) and Harry Styles of One Direction both wore the same Alexander McQueen shirt to the event last night! Dan along with Phil (amazingphil) hosted the livestream version of the awards on YouTube. I can't really decide who wore the shirt better, as they both decided to wear black blazers with the shirt! Let me know who you think wore it better and why! (I'm conflicted as I adore both Dan and Harry)

The 1975 ~ Girls
This is the song that's been stuck in my head for weeks! I have their self-titled album on repeat and I am just infatuated with their music (it started off with 'Chocolate' and subsequently escalated)

So they were my February Favourites!
Expect another blog post at the weekend! :D

“This moment will just be another story someday.”

Hey Everyone!

So it's nearly the end of the first full week of 2014! *Accidentally types 2013* I had a very relaxing week as I'm not back in school yet (that's tomorrow, sadly) The week is a bit of a blur in reality, but has been quite enjoyable.

The title of this blog post is from the book ''The perks of being a wallflower'' by Stephen Chbosky which I got for Christmas. I read the book all this week, I'd definitely recommend it, I cried reading the end of the book. Overall it was brilliant and I'm looking forward to watching the film soon. I didn't want to be too cheesy and use the quote ''And in that moment, I swear we were infinite'' as I feel it's extremely overused sadly.

I watched Sherlock on Sunday evening and I even made a YouTube video about my reaction to Season 3 episode one (link is here, if you're brave) as I'm a huge Sherlockian! I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, it was perfection!

On another note, I received a DM on Twitter from a lovely girl (who I won't name) who heard me speaking at the public speaking competition I was in about mental health and related to some of the things I said, as soon as I read the DM, I started crying! She also has read my blog (HELLO!) and said that my blog was inspiring. I'm not posting this to brag I promise, I was just so shocked that a person listened & related to what I said/have written on my blog, it really took me by surprise. Thank you. I always find other people inspiring and always wanted to inspire people, I never thought anyone in the world actually took me seriously, ever.

On Saturday, I went to badminton for the first time this year and afterwards had a Sherlock marathon with my friend Vivien! We eventually took out FredOrGeorge (my tripod) and posed with Harry Styles! We had a great afternoon watching Sherlock and posing with Harry Styles.

During the Christmas sales I also bought some things online which finally arrived on Thursday & Friday! (Photos are below) I haven't worn/used all the clothes and bag yet but I'm looking forward to!

Sorry for the brevity of this blog post, I can't seem to write a lot at the moment no matter how hard I try. Hopefully when I'm back in school I'll be in the frame of mind to be able to write more! It could also be the fact that I'm watching the Dan and Phil show online *drools over Dan* and that Sherlock is on in 45 minutes...

Myself and Vivien posing with Harry!

FOOOD!

I think someone has their eye on Harry *coughs awkwardly*

My reactions to Allegiant...

*end of the book*

Some of the things I ordered on the Roxy site, I bought the hoody in one of the clothes shops in town (Half price sale wahey) and the top online

I also bought a Hollister top and hoodie (don't judge me, it was free shipping!)

The lovely bag I bought on the Roxy site, I literally can't wait to use it!
Ps. I bought these items with my own money.Hollister and Roxy did not pay me or anything, this is just me fangirling over Christmas sales!) :)

So that's it from me!
Tomorrow I'll be braving the school corridors again for the first time in like 3 weeks :(
I call it peasant fighting but oh well
too late to take that back
oh well
Stay Strong, Happy and Fearless!
