“This moment will just be another story someday.”

Hey Everyone!

So it's nearly the end of the first full week of 2014! *Accidentally types 2013* I had a very relaxing week as I'm not back in school yet (that's tomorrow, sadly) The week is a bit of a blur in reality, but has been quite enjoyable.

The title of this blog post is from the book ''The perks of being a wallflower'' by Stephen Chbosky which I got for Christmas. I read the book all this week, I'd definitely recommend it, I cried reading the end of the book. Overall it was brilliant and I'm looking forward to watching the film soon. I didn't want to be too cheesy and use the quote ''And in that moment, I swear we were infinite'' as I feel it's extremely overused sadly.

I watched Sherlock on Sunday evening and I even made a YouTube video about my reaction to Season 3 episode one (link is here, if you're brave) as I'm a huge Sherlockian! I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, it was perfection!

On another note, I received a DM on Twitter from a lovely girl (who I won't name) who heard me speaking at the public speaking competition I was in about mental health and related to some of the things I said, as soon as I read the DM, I started crying! She also has read my blog (HELLO!) and said that my blog was inspiring. I'm not posting this to brag I promise, I was just so shocked that a person listened & related to what I said/have written on my blog, it really took me by surprise. Thank you. I always find other people inspiring and always wanted to inspire people, I never thought anyone in the world actually took me seriously, ever.

On Saturday, I went to badminton for the first time this year and afterwards had a Sherlock marathon with my friend Vivien! We eventually took out FredOrGeorge (my tripod) and posed with Harry Styles! We had a great afternoon watching Sherlock and posing with Harry Styles.

During the Christmas sales I also bought some things online which finally arrived on Thursday & Friday! (Photos are below) I haven't worn/used all the clothes and bag yet but I'm looking forward to!

Sorry for the brevity of this blog post, I can't seem to write a lot at the moment no matter how hard I try. Hopefully when I'm back in school I'll be in the frame of mind to be able to write more! It could also be the fact that I'm watching the Dan and Phil show online *drools over Dan* and that Sherlock is on in 45 minutes...

Myself and Vivien posing with Harry!

FOOOD!

I think someone has their eye on Harry *coughs awkwardly*

My reactions to Allegiant...

*end of the book*

Some of the things I ordered on the Roxy site, I bought the hoody in one of the clothes shops in town (Half price sale wahey) and the top online

I also bought a Hollister top and hoodie (don't judge me, it was free shipping!)

The lovely bag I bought on the Roxy site, I literally can't wait to use it!
Ps. I bought these items with my own money.Hollister and Roxy did not pay me or anything, this is just me fangirling over Christmas sales!) :)

So that's it from me!
Tomorrow I'll be braving the school corridors again for the first time in like 3 weeks :(
I call it peasant fighting but oh well
too late to take that back
oh well

My Turbulent Back To School Week!

Hey Everyone!

It's been a CRAZY week in the Life of Me, I started back to school this week and I've been part of the J.O.A.L.L.A.P blog collaboration! Despite all the work I've been doing, I'm quite alert, hyper and giddy. Perhaps it's over-tiredness, I'm not quite sure!

I went back to school on Wednesday which, was eventful. I started in Fifth Year, last year I was in Transition Year so it was a huge wake up call on Wednesday. The teachers/principal began Assembly speaking about the Leaving Certificate, CAO applications and of course, university and college. What a lovely way to calm me, not. I literally left the Assembly panicking and hyper-ventilating. No, I promise I wasn't that bad however it felt like it.

So far I really like all my teachers, I'm doing all Honours/Higher Level subjects, yes even maths! I was delighted to have been put into all Honours classes. Based on experience from when my brother was in Leaving Cert years, it's a lot of hard work. Most of your time is spent working on projects, studying and revising. Which means less blogging time! I'm still committed to posting here at least once a week don't worry, I just won't be posting YouTube video's for the foreseeable future sadly.

It's the only logical decision as I don't want to stop blogging, YouTube takes up a lot of time. Between filming, editing and uploading it can take several hours. Blogging on the other hand, well I just type whatever what pops into my head. I do some brainstorming and write down what I have to include in that post. Perhaps over mid-term and other holidays I'll post videos. At the moment I have TWO recorded videos, unedited, but they exist!

I was studying for a few hours today (I did my homework and note writing last night) and I was revising my Irish vocab when my neighbours started shouting loudly at each other in the garden (something about a clothes line I have no idea) and I shouted in Irish back at them (from my bedroom) oops. In English, I said ''I'm not able to learn my Irish vocab because you're both shouting at the top of your voices in the garden, thank you!''  (I am a sarcastic person)

I've been in 5th Year TWO days and I'm already shouting at people in Irish. I worry for myself. I didn't even go on the internet for two days, which is a world record for me. I didn't even go on Twitter to see what Danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil were up to! (Not even Tumblr!)

Also, it has come to my attention that several people from my school have been reading my blog! I don't post links to my blog on Facebook, only on Twitter & Tumblr, so HEY! So far I've had a fairly positive response from my peers. A cousin of mine also found my blog last week, I guess the secret's out! ;)

Also, in other very important news, an Irish poet (and an absolute favourite of mine) Seamus Heaney passed away yesterday at the age of 74. I know I'm not a literary genius or particularly eloquent, however I feel the need to express how literature has lost such an amazing person. For my Junior Cert, my main poet was Seamus Heaney, from what I can recall, I wrote about either ''Mid Term Break'' or ''Digging'' If you haven't read ''Mid Term Break'' I would highly recommend it, however I still cry after reading the poem. The last line particularly affects me, ''A four foot box, a foot for every year'' It sends chills up my spine, it's so beautiful and poetic, yet so deeply saddening.

R.I.P. Seamus Heaney, you will be sorely missed in the world of literature.

J.O.A.L.L.A.P Collab Day 4! My Tumblr, Shipping & Fandoms Obsession!

Hey Everyone!

So I'm part of the J.O.A.L.L.A.P blog collab (link below) and the theme is to write about ourselves. Everyone's posts have been absolutely fantastic (and reposted on my blog along with everyone elses) so today I'm going to be writing about my Tumblr obsession! (Along with other obsessions)

So my Tumblr journey to insanity began in January 2012, when the nostalgia of Christmas had begun to fade. I didn't really reblog many things, just comedy posts. It's quite embarrassing when I think of it, I chose to reblog the most bland, boring posts on the internet. Even worse, I thought I was COOL for it. *cringes at self*

I began reblogging posts from my fandoms in around March 2013 ( a fandom is like a book or tv series, or like YouTubers, more on them!) along with quotes, cute images and everything else in between. Then I lost my dignity (so my family says) because I turned into a full on ''fangirl''. I was heavily influenced by a former friend and I was in a laid back school year, Transition Year. Due to having more time on my hands, I began to spend all that time on Tumblr and my blog! I have no regrets, I've made so many friends through both these sites! (But back onto fandoms and shipping, I'm sorry this is random at times!)

My main fandoms at the moment are the Phandom which is Dan Howell and Phil Lester, two of my favourite YouTubers in existence. Many people ship them together, but I ship them as like a bromance or long lasting friendship. I adore their videos and check their Twitters practically daily to see if there's a new video or anything interesting happening (I'm made myself sound so bad there, oh my gosh)

I'm also in the Divergent fandom, The Hunger Games fandom, Sherlock, Doctor Who, TFIOS, basically any thing Vlogbrothers related and if you count singers, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Paramore, One Direction (one and off) and many more.

I basically ship everything and anything! Shipping is putting two people together in a relationSHIP or a friendSHIP. Who am I kidding, it's nearly always a relationship. In Harry Potter for example I ship Hinny, Romione, Drapple, Jily and RemusTonks! My OTP (One True Pairing) at the moment is Dantesers, Danisnotonfire (Dan Howell) and maltesers!

Did I also tell you I have a John Green book shrine? Yeah.

So that was a major part of my life, I'm planning on making a YouTube video in the coming weeks about the same issue.

                                                                             My OTP, Dantesers!

Here's some of the miscellaneous things I reblog on a daily basis, except I won't be because of school again. *cries* So here is probably my last blog post of unplanned insanity!

Who Needs Vid-Con When You Have Amusements?!

Hey Everyone!

Another week has come and passed! So the title of this post is about Vid-Con and amusements! I was devastated that I wasn't going to Vid-Con, (I will probably never get to go there, perks of living in Ireland) I'd love to meet Dan Howell, Phil Lester, John & Hank Green, Charlie McDonnell, Zoella and lots more people someday as I adore them all and they are my idols! . Maybe I'll go in a few years, if I'm lucky.

So I wasn't up to very much this week, until the weekend! I was working for the majority of the week which I didn't mind. I was up at 4 am on Saturday for work later on however I finished early enough so I went for brunch with my friend Shannon who was working with me that morning. I then got a text from my friend Vivien asking to go to the amusements with her and Grace (aka DaintySprinkles) so I went and we had an amazing time. Now, I have an insane fear of heights so I wasn't able to go on the higher amusements so Grace and I took photos while Viv went on those amusements! (See below!)

Hopefully by the time I have written this, my video will have uploaded to YouTube, if you could subscribe to me I would really appreciate it, I am a little terrified uploading to YouTube, it's one of the biggest social media platforms on the internet. I love blogging as I can write down what's going on, whilst blogging you don't have to make eye-contact with a camera, you just type whatever is in your head..

Please don't hate me haha.

Also, in the video you will see a toy puppy on my right hand side! It's a branded cuddly toy I got in the supermarket on Friday whilst shopping with my Mam, it's so cute, my inner child screamed to have it! I have a feeling I won't be letting my little cousins near it when they visit. (Yes really)

So the weeks are quickening steadily now, I've three weeks left in my summer job then I'm back in school (once again, explained in the video!) Which I'm really going to miss but I'll be happy to be back in school and see all my friends again!

Taking selfies at the amusements with our popcorn and candy floss! (I asked for the SMALL candy floss if you're wondering!)

Grace eating her popcorn

Attractively eating my candy floss..

Vivien on one of the amusements I was too scared to go on..

Flying without wings!

Goodbye Matt Smith, this has been me for several days...

The Wanted ~ Walks Like Rihanna (I don't even know, I heard it work and it's stuck in my head)

So it was an interesting collab with Grace and we definitely had lots of fun, it was great craic and I'd definitely do another collab!

Another Week Of Summer! ASDFGHJKL

Hey Everyone!

This week was really random, busy and weird! Only way to describe it to be honest! I was in work (as usual!) most of the week, which I don't mind. I have to say it's great having some independence and getting paid every week. Just now, I ordered four John Green books, ''Paper Towns'', ''An Abundance of Katherines'', ''Will Grayson, Will Grayson'' and also ''Looking For Alaska''. I bought TFIOS in London back in March as it's IMPOSSIBLE to find any John Green books in Ireland for some reason. I read (devoured) the book on the hour long flight home, and cried. Yes, it's taken nearly 4 months to read more John Green books. What can I say? I am such a procrastinator.

But my week wasn't all about John Green books! (I'm currently watching the Wimbledon final, come on Andy Murray!) On Friday, I was at my cousin Barry's house as another cousin of mine was getting married and we were invited to the evening part of the wedding.

So I would like to apologise now, I was meant to take a few photos of my outfit for all you beauty bloggers.. but I didn't. I completely forgot as I lost my phone in my cousins house (not bragging but his house is massive) as I was on the way to the hotel and I freaked. I soon found it, but I had to run to the car so couldn't take any photos, so I'M SO SORRY EVERYONE.

Apart from that hiccup, the evening was great. Everyone looked amazing to say the least. However it was slightly awkward when a teacher from my school was also at the wedding. She never taught me or anything, but still, it was weird. However it was to be expected because my cousin Joey and his now wife Natalie are both teachers! A match made in education, haha.

I got home at 2am and very stupidly went to badminton at 10am. I could barely hit the shuttlecock but I was forgiven as they didn't expect me to turn up! :) Overall it was good, seeing as it was the first badminton session in over 2 weeks.

Afterwards myself, Vivien, Evan, Brian and my brother Noel, went for a drive in Brian's new car and drove all over the local area, myself and Vivi chatting about how to tell the difference between Jack and Finn Harries! We drove back into town and saw a huge old style bus painted red and a local radio station there too, right on the Main Street. (Yes, the main street of the town is called the Main Street, clearly we're a creative town)
The front garden at my cousin's house, I forgot to take a photo of the pond at the front!

Barry's piano, I giggled because I thought of the saying ''So kawaii''

Another photo taken from the front window..

Viv and I saw this in the local supermarket, people are that desperate to find their name on a bottle!

The bus we got on, SO HOT UP THERE.

The bus from afar, they even gave us balloon swords, little sweets and tried to use facepaint on our faces! (We were 13,16 and 19-20 by the way)

An Oreo cupcake I bought in a local Café, mmm Oreo's...
(Awkwardly saw a lorry driver from the business I work for in there too, awkward)

Ps, congratulations to AmazingPhil (Phil Lester) on YouTube for reaching 1 million subscribers, so proud to say I'm a Phillion! Oh and did anyone else see Danisnotonfire's (Dan Howell) new hairstyle? Thoughts?

So that's it for this week, Stay Strong, Happy and Fearless,

Day 2! What Kind Of Person Attracts You!

Woo, it's Day 2! This one is a little more tricky than a Zodiac sign. I feel it's open to a lot of interpretation, there are possibly many types of attraction. ''What kind of person attracts you?''
1. Could it be what kind of person you like/fancy?
2 Could it be in social circles and your friends, what about them attracts you to be their friend? Like similiar interests etc.
Just to be random, I'll write about both. It's not as though I have anything else to do... ;) (I'm actually typing this and watching a Gaelic Football match! My home county is playing in this one!)

What Kind of Person Attracts You: Part One.

What kind of person attracts me. Well, this is one is going to be difficult! I'm not going to lie, random things attract me about a person. I love watching Dan Howell (Danisnotonfire) on YouTube, his video's are just hilarious. They're so full of life and are just comical. I feel bad laughing at the many, many, many mistakes Dan has/had made in his life. The video's really cheer me up. What attracts me to him is his sarcasm, humour, accent (I don't know, I just love it) and of course HIS HAIR. I sound so shallow there it's not even funny.

It's the same with most other YouTubers I watch, AmazingPhil ~ I adore his innocence and how lovely he is in his video's.I'd comment on more YouTuber's but I watch nearly too many!

To avoid awkward conversations when I go back to school, I WONT comment on people who attract me in my own life. I know some people who know me read this, and it would be weird for them to find out via my blog about the lads who I like/fancy in school. (Please don't write any names in the comments!) Sorry to spoil that for you all, however I hope you all understand why I won't post any! (There are several names I would list if I could!) ;)

What Kind Of Person Attracts You: Part Two.

This part is about social circles and friends. Mainly about what attracts/entices you into being friends with certain people. Well, at least why I think it happens.

First of all, it's obviously similar interests, perhaps books, music and sport. I have a lot of friends from my badminton club, some are nearly 20 and some are 13! Big age difference but I'm still friends with all of them. So I met those friends through a similar interest I guess.

Another way to meet new friends is obviously through school. It's where most people meet their friends. Last year as some of you may know, I was in TY or Transition Year, it was mainly a ''gap'' year as such before Leaving Cert. So I made lots of new friends through things I did during TY. I was thinking about it recently, how my social circle of friends is COMPLETELY different to one I was in after Third Year. I have more in common with my friends now and we are all of a similar mindset which attracted us all to being friends.

So that was a very random blog post about attraction!
Stay Strong, Happy and Fearless,
Aveen xx

Majestical summer adventures.....!!!

Hey Everyone!

Long time no update! (6 days, the HORROR!) I definitely think ''The Quickening'' is upon us. Seems like only yesterday I was typing about sitting in the garden getting a tan and sobbing over Allegiant! So, now it's time to tell all you lovely people about the past week!

So I was up to my usual activities this week, being the typical procrastinating perfectionist I am. On Monday I went to my friends house to sing songs and rehearse for a competition we had coming up. We were meant to be singing ''Some Nights'' by Fun, which i really enjoyed. To rehearse I had to leave work on time at 5 instead of doing overtime as usual. On Thursday I received a text saying ''Practice cancelled, call me when you can'' I discovered that the competition we were entering was CANCELLED. All our hard work was for nothing. Being honest, i was actually kind of relieved. I was terrified about singing on stage, I even had some solo lines, which I was terrified about. The girls found it strange that I could speak aloud with confidence but would only sing loudly if coaxed to. To be honest, I use my voice to speak, to make a point, debate and for knowledge. Never for singing! So it was something different and slightly terrifying for me.

I was working for the majority of the week which was fine. On Wednesday, I had the day off so I went to get my hair cut, seeing as I haven't had it cut since I went to London in March! The hairdresser was great, as always and cut nearly 2 inches off my hair! The most I've ever had cut off, like ever! (Before and after photos posted below!) but I was happy she cut off so much, the ends were becoming a little raggy. I actually have quite thick hair so she had to thin my hair out a little too. I was happy with the result, she even french plaited the fringe section for me.

I had Saturday off from work so I went shopping in a shopping centre in Dublin with my parents, it was really good, especially because I was using my own money which I felt extremely proud of! (Sorry bank account) I'll be posting another update about what I bought and did that day for all you fashionista's!

So today is Sunday, I got up late and went down the town with my Mam. I bought myself a new book too, it's written by an author I quite like, Sophie Kinsella. The book is called ''I've got your number'' I've read her Shopaholic series which I simply devoured! So I'm excited to be reading her latest book, she always make me laugh! I visited my Nana today too, she's 91 and absolutely adorable. To be honest, she was asleep the majority of the time I was there so I went on Facebook and chatted to my aunt too. (Grace and I had a very interesting conversation on FB while I was there!) I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 92! ;)

As I'm constantly on the internet, I was on YouTube and saw a youtuber I like called Alex Day had uploaded a video called ''Big girls in costumes'' I watched the entire video and to be honest, I know he was using satire, I was kind of offended. I'm not the skinniest girl or the fattest girl ever but I felt a little upset that in this day and age people still say comments and judge people based on their weight. This video has caused such outrage on YouTube, Alex had to make it unlisted and wrote a full explanation on Tumblr about it. Still, I'm offended from it. I take jokes quite easily and love a laugh (in work I'm called the posh kid and I find it hilarious and speak in a posh accent for the craic too) but weight is a sensitive topic in this day and age, with rising numbers of teenage girls (and boys) being diagnosed with anorexia and other illnesses along with all the body bashing our generation does to each other, it was a bad topic to be satirical about. I was a little disappointed and I thought of the video constantly on Saturday when I was buying a dress to wear to my cousins wedding, seeing as I might be ''too big'' for certain styles according to others.
 * I felt that that kind of needed to be addressed as it's something I've been thinking of constantly since I first watched it.

Another week of majestical adventures!!

Hey Everyone, another week of the Life of Me has come and gone. This week was also the last full week of Transition Year! (Holds back tears) Be strong everyone, be strong. We will get through this! :)

We have our Awards Night on Monday night in the school gym which has been decorated and looks brilliant. On Friday I was announced as one of the host's of the award's, something which delighted and both terrified me at the exact same time. There's a male host too, and we have to write our lines. So as you can imagine I'm half procrastinating and half writing them. Myself and the male host were Skyping and we have practically all of the lines written, we just have to add in some humour (Oh the horror!)

Just so you know, I do have a sense of humour, however, it's not humour sense of humour it's dirty minded humour. I have a feeling the school principal, who will be attending the awards night, won't accept/like any jokes I make. No pressure then Aveen, so we're trying to get off some classes for rehearsals and more fine-tuning.

So I'd like to update you all on my week this week. It wasn't the craziest week nor the most boring either. On Monday, I mainly worked on the Yearbook for TY. Tuesday I helped with some certificates which will be presented at the Awards Night, I had my Irish Speaking test and worked on the Yearbook for six more classes, it was great.

In our school for incoming First Year students we have a mentor/Meitheal leader programme where Fifth Year students are assigned to a First Year class and mentor them for their First Year. I applied because I felt I could help younger students and it would be good experience for when I will hopefully be a primary school teacher. I had my interview on Tuesday after school and it went really well! I was quite pleased with how it went for me.

On Wednesday I was still working on the Yearbook (Yes, I've never seen something take so long in my life!) but eventually finished the entire thing before last class. So as you can imagine with looking at the same computer screen for practically three days, I thought my eyes were going to bleed. The Ed Sheeran lyrics ''My eyes are red'' were quite true for me!

I had regular classes on Thursday, the teachers were brilliant, they let us do very little as it was our last week as Transition Years. It seems so weird typing that, *IDEA FOR ANOTHER BLOG POST WOOHOO*

so we had no homework or work to do in classes.

On Friday our Year Head came back in after a week of absence and organised the students in how to prepare for Monday. Ham (our nickname for her) then assigned people to speak on various topics and then told me I was the female host of the award's night! I was in shock for a few seconds, I was concerned I wouldn't be a speaker, let alone a host! So I spent most of Friday and Saturday working on lines and what not.

Saturday evening/night I went to my friend Áine's surprise 17th birthday party. I arrived at 7 as I was bringing the cake (ordered from the bakery I will be working in hint hint) In total there was 26 of us there. It was a great night and I really enjoyed it! I think everyone else and especially Áine did too. I got home at 11 o'clock and went straight asleep, I was exhausted!

So now it's nearly midday on Sunday, I know I'm late with my blog post, but only by around 24 hours! :)

So my favourite YouTubers are Dan (Danisnotonfire) and Phil (Amazing Phil) and they won  the Sony Golden Headphones award! I voted for them over 10 times so I was fangirling so much when they won!
Here's Dan with Cat in America this week, I may or may not ship them slightly! The cat jumpers are just so cute!

I was in the local supermarket and I saw that cucumbers were 69c. See what I mean about dirty-minded/immature sense of humour?

Here's my friend Maeve with the wooden box she made in woodwork, it looks amazing! Well done :)

Here's the top of the box, yum!

My little cousin Ornaith (pronounced like R-NAH) on my laptop, let's hope she doesn't become an addict like me..

A poor quality photo of Áine's cake. It was 12 inches by 12 inches (30 centimetres) with pink icing so it was huge. It was so heavy!

I hope you all have an amazing week, you all deserve it!
Wish me luck hosting!
